Hello!
A lot has changed since my last update, so let me give you a quick overview of what’s been happening in my life and work.
The final stretch of 2025 was quite busy, and I wrapped up my work with GARR at the start of 2026. This transition back to the job market prompted me to rethink my resume pipeline, which I wrote about in my post, Automating my CV with LaTeX and GitHub Actions.
I started going to the gym regularly, which has been a great way to stay active and healthy. However, my frustration with modern gym trackers led to some venting in my article, The Bloat of Modern Fitness Apps.
This spring was heavily focused on Swift and SwiftUI, since my friend Francesco and I have been working on some projects together (that we hope to share with you soon). If you want a taste of some of my recent programming side quests, check out my post on building A Braun clock for a $30 handheld.
My commitment to photography has also been growing; I have spent significant time refining my chemical film development routines and practicing my darkroom skills. I recently shared some of my experiences hitting the wet island in Darkroom: Silver Gelatin Print at Spazio Gnu. I also made a big gear switch recently, selling my Leica M10 and picking up a Leica SL3.
A major highlight was joining a new company, so my day-to-day work has shifted toward engineering backend microservices for a cloud POS platform. It’s been an exciting challenge diving into the new architecture!
Currently, I’m down in Abruzzo spending some time with my family and Neon, the cat.
I did bring the new Leica SL3, the Leica M6 and the Hasselblad along, but I’m actually not taking many pictures right now. I decided for once to bring some color film with me. It has been nice to just step back and relax, and at night, I’ve found myself winding down by listening to a lot of Radiohead (and if you are curious about my thoughts on the audio gear I use for listening sessions, you can read my brutally honest review, AirPods Max 2: an infuriating love letter).
I will be sure to share more updates on the iOS projects and maybe even a few color shots once I am back in Turin.
Talk soon,
Eliseo
P.S. I also rewrote my website from scratch, ditched Next.js and moved to Hugo. Let me know what you think!
